- A director of operations maximises your enjoyment. You choose the activities, but before and during your stay an NZ PURE TOUR director of
operations recommends, based upon your preferences, the weather, time of year and other factors, what would be best. Your director speaks Mandarin as well as English. In a foreign land, it is hard to know what the best experiences are. The best experiences are often not the highly-promoted and expensive ones. Furthermore, hordes of tourists at an attraction usually detract from the enjoyment. A director or operations makes a big difference in the enjoyment, experiences, photos and memories you take from the holiday.
Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.
- Accommodation is in beautiful country properties, but close to towns. Each property is unique and lovingly mantained by the hosts. There are no standard motels here. Typically, the properties have large gardens, farm, domestic or wild animals and fruit and vegetables that you can pick. Some have swimming pools and hot tubs. At many, you can cook for yourself with utensils and common supplies provided. See the individual properties for details. Importantly, at many of the properties you will have interaction with your hosts and, if you wish, have them prepare and join with you for a meal one evening. They will give you a tour of the property and may invite you to join them in an activity such as shopping. It is such activities, where many of your fondest memories are likely to come from. You learn and feel part of the local culture.
Tell me and I forget; teach me and I may remember; involve me and I will learn.

ask is a fool for life.

- Less is more and, so, we encourage you to limit the locations you stay at. A common mistake is to cover too large an area in the hope of maximising the holiday experience. You then spend a lot of time driving, which is tiring, makes you sleepy, and wastes time when you could be having a pleasant experience instead. In addition, if your schedule is not flexible, an activity or sight you most wanted to see may not be available on the appointed day because of weather or other reason. And, by staying longer is one location, you engage more with the locals, gain pleasure from that interaction and learn the culture. So, with us, you do and see more and miss less. Limiting locations in the North Island is easy as most of the best are within an easy drive in the upper central part of the island. Generally, that will be within about 1 hour’s drive. If you have 4 or fewer days in the South Island, we recommend staying only in Queenstown or Wanaka. If you have 5-10 days in the South Island, we recommend limiting yourself to two or three of Christchurch, Tekapo and Queenstown or Wanaka.
