House and gardens
1930s timber home in 5 acres of grounds. The house is spacious with large rooms, wide corridors and high ceilings and doors. There is a mixture of carpets and wooden floors. There is gas heating pumping warm air up through vents in the floors.
The garden is extensive with half of the 5 acres in garden. There are ponds small and large, waterfalls, a stream, drystone walls and various themed areas. Stroll around, join with nature, relax in the gazebo hammock and unwind.
This is a great place for weddings, particularly in the spring (mid-September to the first-week of October) when the drive of cherry trees is in flower.

We know the area well and can enlighten you to many beautiful, magical places that few locals know about let alone the travel companies.
Paul and Annie are absolutely amazing and their home is truly a garden paradise. As hosts they were way more accommodating than we would have ever expected. They sent us a huge PDF of recommendations prior to arrival, set out a huge breakfast for us, kindly let us take over their kitchen for cooking (we were a group of 5), and even brought in my laundry when I accidentally had to leave it out for longer than expected.
They're working on starting their own travel agency and so are very well equipped to host travelers who want a great, local, authentic experience. Super friendly, respectful, helpful, and kind. Highly recommended!
The house is very large, very historical, actually there is a heated swimming pool. Garden surprisingly large, very beautiful, the landlord is very kind, give us a very good recommendation of wild hot springs. Recommend to everyone.
Great spot to relax for the weekend and fantastic that it is also dog friendly! Paul and Annie were lovely hosts and made our stay so easy. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was divine. Thanks again!

This comfortable and gracious home provided a relaxing retreat in a beautiful quiet garden setting but only minutes from Hamilton . The pool was welcome in hot weather and the rooms a generous size. The hosts were very hospitable, friendly and accommodating.
Lovely old home in the country with gardens and pool ....really close to Hillcrest shops and to Mystery Creek. Hosts Paul and Annie are lovely people and make a great team.
Anne and Paul are very kind. they are easy to communicate with, and feel happy to provide everything you need including tour information, dairy supplies, breakfast and dinner .The old school style house is beautiful. We all like this house, and the garden is fantastic; you do not need to go to the Hamilton Gardens, because you already have one.
